I'm sure many of you have been to Rezzables Greenies Sim, if not, some of the other Rezzable Sims. Rezzable have started charging for entry to the Greenies and the Black Swan, the Blogs have been running hot around the Grid talking about the morals and the buisness aspect of doing this, arn't they just creating a new way of raising much needed funds and revenue? why is there so much resistance to this? We are going to hear this next week from the CEO of Rezzable and another person that has had a lot to do with Rezzable and has her own strong opinions on Art and content in SL Bettina Tizzy from "Not Possible in Real Life".

Have you ever seen those weird little short stories announcing a gig in SL....thats Rosedrop rust..he and his good nature will be gracing our stage also this Sunday Night at the live taping. Always crazy artistic verging on Autistic, high functioning anyway. At 6 years old get first role in School play, realize I finally fit!....somewhere! Fool around all my school life in plays, singing, dancing, directing writing and starring in countless productions and make-believe TV shows. Fail 2 auditions for NIDA (cry) work as Extra/Actress get Union Card, Agent ect. Go To Graphic Design School, Drop Out, Go to Drama School, Drop Out, Travel O.S, Work as Illustrator for 6 years, Go To Makeup artists school and teach Makeup, work on a few Indi films. Work for Film Production Company mostly Commercials. Back to Drama School Graduate after 3 grueling years yay!!! first real Qual. Learn singing...keep singing...keep getting work singing...form band....keep singing!!! join another Band...Get Married, Pregnant, Stop Singing, Audition as Pregnant Mum...lose Agent..6 yrs later, kids are at school...back to singing, forget about agent...make first Album, sing more, work drops off...make 2nd Album less and less work, Clubs here all closing, industry in shambles....Find Second Life! 3 months later more work!!! more sold Albums, more singing!...Make-beleive TV show produced written and designed by ME!!! but instead of boring my Class at school, its watched by thousands!!! on SLCN.TV Im back where I started in Primary school!!! now why didn't I just stay the course!!! it would have been soooo much easier, but then life happens, and I wouldn't have so many great stories and be able to empathize with my guests, if I was 22 and interviewing people on the telly, I had a life and so much more in the interim... funny thing is the make-believe TV show is being watched now like a Real Life TV show! non Second Life people are watching it! who knew!!!! I have a 90 year old lady who does not "GET" SL at all as one of my biggest fans :) and....Im having a Ball!!! The life experiences I haven't talked about in this post are the things that have formed me, Im proud to have survived them :) and blessed to have had them. Paisley

Tonight Live went to Rustica last week just a spectacular treat! The reason for this is that we met the creator of the Castle and the furniture Store within it that you can see behind us here in the distance, and had to film there to appreciate how wonderfull his work is.

We also met an artist who through his hauntingly mesmerizing music suited this location beautifully his name is Kourosh Eusebio

We also met another artist who also has an appreciation for the spectacular in Second Life he is renown photographer and Publisher Belmakor Pintens

Tonights Show Blew Us All Away!

Well as you can see we had a mind blowing experience on the show tonight. The sim was almost full 1/2 hour before we started with people coming in just to watch the rehearsals at 4.30pm....All 3 interviews were very exiting and informative and fun. Patty Streeter and her Son Stoked Skytower, gave us a little insight into Disability and SL, and Women and their Cars! Musician Singer Robie Bloch blew us all away with her extraordinary Talent, Boy that girl can sing! she's gotta be one of th e most talented singers not only on SL but in the world, she tells us what its like to be a support act for some of the worlds biggest stars of the stage. And finally a total blow in from NOAA, Hackshaven Harford the man with the speach therapists favorite name...showed us some tricks with the weather! Again a great visual Show which takes the SL talk show out of the podcast domain! it will be up on www.slcn.tv tomorrow. As Prokofy Suggested (on my post below) do yer own, So why not? After hours I love to explore
S.L eithere as myself or my alt, and I love checking out peoples pics to
see what places they love to hang out in. So here are some of mine Im going
to keep them in the left hand side column and any suggestions you may have
add them to comments, and I'll check em out. I will be choosing these
places from purely a subjective perspective. No freinds or bribes or
favours will be considered over others. And why I choose them will be also
purely personal. And I won't justify my choices at all :) enjoy the links
as you wish! I have seen other lists of great places before often at the
info huds and there are various huds you can wear, but really if we don't like the Showcase cause its sooo random then...do as Prokofy quite reasonably suggests Do yer own!

I grew up in a copy of the Frank Lloyd Wright Waterfall house and this
house definitly has some Frank Lloyd Wright features about it I quite like
the feel I should imagine in RL the heating and cooling would cost a
fortune I would definitly add some Solar panneling to the roof!

decided after over a year to get a new house, same place just new house.
Ive spend about 3 days updating furniture and getting less primmy furniture
as the house has more :) I don't make a lot of changes in my SL house or my
RL one actually I tend to set things out and there they stay. Im a real
creature of habit in some very fixed ways. This my SL office which is a lot
bigger and tidyer than my RL office! of course...and my computer is all
back to front I have thte laptop off to one side and I use my big screen
conected to the laptop to work from 22 inces and its wonderfull!!! I
haven't found a small version of the wireless keyboard on SL yet :)

This weeks Episode is UP!!! www.slcn.tv you gotta see.. and I mean SEE! this weeks episode! it cannot be fully appreciated as a podcast! (as Crap Mariner claims all Chat shows are, big raspberry to you buddy!)..as usual we always add some visual component to our show that makes you take your iPod out of your pocket and watch what's on the screen! and this weeks show achieves that effect wonderfully! We discuss aliens with Drew Frobozz from NASA, Teaching English (as in Literature) with Musician Harper Messmer who got us all swooning and swaying with his incredibly beautiful song, and "The Particle Guy" ArminasX Saiman pranks me( with a really lovely prank actually) at the end of the show :)

Ok so this is a little off topic but hey its my blog and I'll blog if I want too!
So Ive installed the latest viewer..as have loads of people... the one without the Most popular places, which is now replaced with the Showcase, and of course Im miffed that Tonight Live isn't on the showcase yet!!! however, will the showcase really replace most Popular places...I go to the old viewer tonight...just to see if theres any change in numbers on the popular places ummmm well its 4am slt and nope I don't see any difference, so the new viewer is optional and maybe there are a lotta nervous people out there not downloading the new viewer till the bugs have been exterminated? and they allready hang out at the most popular places anyway, they have been there a while..places like.. freebie island, Hippy island, sweethearts etc....so the effect hasn't kicked in yet, I wonder how many people have actually downloaded the new "optional" viewer? which of course Linden Labs have suggested they have no plans to make manditory.....yet...at least for about the next few weeks if history is anything to go on.

I then log into the new viewer to check out the new Showcase...and do a little tour..ok.. so what are these great new hot spots? the places being showcased on the new search are they any good? why were they chosen? And maybe with this new viewer they have turned into the new places to hang out and be seen...? well so far....nooooo all empty..oh! there was one person at the sim I took a pic of, and the other 4 sims I went to in the Hot Spots section were obviously not deemed "hot" by the masses over at Hippy island..perhaps if they had a money tree or 2 or 3 and some camping chairs??....at 4am Sweethearts had over 70 people in it, all hanging out listening to piped jazz...in Lagg that ages your avi 30 years...hmmm no lagg at the Showcase hot spots in the new search, hey! haven't these people at Hippy's and Sweathearts got the new Viewer!!! didn't they know they were not at the hot spot?!!! why are they still at Sweethearts when clearly the Hot spot (as per Linden Labs social director)..was elsewhere!!!! gees .....excuse me but I think they need to send down some social police to Sweethearts (who btw I bear no ill will, btw they play my sorta music!!! even if it aint live and they don't pay royalties for it..) and tell them they are soooo last week! the "Hot Spots" have been decreed and chosen! and these clueless Avis at Sweethearts and Hippies are clearly out of the loop!!!!

So far without naming names I am bewildered by the choice of showcased places and hotspots..they are a real mixture of the very ordinary and the very-well-done but...empty..they are all PG of course, and politicaly correct..(correct me if Im wrong) and quite pleasant if you are just comming into SL, I think they may be a nice "Leave it to Beaver" look at SL, ( I know I'm an Aussie.. but that phrase has been around long enough for me to get-it even if we never got the show out here!!)

So what Im curious about is this...when, in a few weeks, the new viewer is manatory.. more or less.. (unless you save your old one...and the average person won't)...what will happen to the old "hot but not - Linden-sanctioned-places" and how will the average Noob find the lewd old hot spots and camping chair-freebie-sims they are packing out now? Will they come in...look at the "Leave it too Beaver" Sims figure there's no one home and leave? Will they all be hanging around asking everyone whats up? and where's the fun? "Ok so this is nice and educational and all but...where do I get money and hang out with other noobs?..

About 4 days ago when researching a story on the Info hubs, which I have an interest in, I went as my alt to a few, to see what was going on at them. Some had groups of not-so-new and new Avis hanging around, some were just plain empty...and some had a tower of lost zombie Avis who had obviously been TP'd there as their sim was not available and didn't know what the hell was going on!!! and one hub had a lovely little nude hobbit type creature with an enourmous Gourd of a penis on..frightening the old ladies and the unaware..good one mate! So you arrive, (and btw noobs still are wearing those purple shirts and awful hair where are the new sexed up noobs? eh?...what is it with that?) get close up with a shrunken man with a huge member, and welcome to SL....lovely! that will surely encourage people to stay...

I wait with eager anticipation...Like any buisness person in SL, I'd love a crack at the showcase just to see if it increases traffic to my studio... but I can't say my studio its the best spot for a rank noobie to hang out..yes you can watch the telly, and if you happen to get there on show day whooo hoo
its an amazing experience for a noob but really, its not going to be enough to keep a noob coming back to SL....I still want to know..who chooses these places? and why are they empty still!!!and...has anyone noticed an upswing in traffic yet? or better still.....any sales???? and what do the noobs think? after all its them that most of the most popular places was aimed at?

Yes we filmed Tonight Live for the first time on Location! it was very tricky coping with a large crowd and the Lagg and it took the longest time to complete filming, what with our retakes and my kids killing each other in the background...but it was a spectacular shoot. Congratulations to Frolic Mills who was a very charming host, for his Best Shopping District of Second Life Award and thanks to the guests on the show for that night the wonderfull Raven Pennyfeather who gave us some insight on her huge empire of shops, Winston Ackland gave us some insight to his romance and eventual nuptials this month! and entertained us with a great and popular song of his "All The Little Fishys.." still don't know what it means...read what you will into it :) and it was really wonderfull to talk with Briggite Kungler the talented and incredible Machinima creator, we watched some of her innovative and dazzeling film Chameleon, and she told us about its creation and the music for it, what an incredibly talented son she has! Despite all the delays the interviews were really fascinating for me and I hope just as fascinating for you, the show is now up on www.slcn.tv! next week this Sunday at 6pm slt back at the Tonight Live Studio at Northpoint! I don't think I've ever had such childish fun as I had on the RFL celebrity race put together by the people from SLASCAR who are broadcast on slcn.tv I have no idea who "Won" but I did suggest the loser should run around the track nude afterwards and the winner should too! the race was hilarious with loads of crashes and cars flying through the air, and all of us were on voice, its weird being on voice in a car race cause you only hear people as they go past you or you go past them, there were lots of screams and laughter and threats of annihilation from some members of the racers..ahem...not me of course....Mwahhh ahhah

after the race things really went down hill.....everyone started rezzing their own cars, and we were racing around the track in luxury cars, and all sorts of vehicles then someone rezzed a plane then another then they started bombing, Crap rezzed a very fast 19th century buggy , You can see here my Tonight Live Limo and overnight Van being bombed by one of the planes, then the weapons really started coming out, and someone started throwing missiles bombs and hamburgers...I think we got all our frustration out of being such appalling racers and then it just petered out into a gestures feast....Im sure there are some other great pics on Flicker I wish it had been filmed, you can check out the race when it comes online on www.slcn.tv it should be an absolute scream...Eshi wearing one of her gowns in a race car and me and my handbag and high-heels and a glass of Champagne drinking and driving...we broke all the rules.!!!
It really is fun to be child like sometimes and just go a bit crazy :)

Paisley Beebe and Starr Sonic Feature in ABC News

A month ago I got a call from Starr Sonic Exec Producer of SLCN.TV, that the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Network) our National Broadcaster here in Australia, were putting together a TV News item about virtual worlds for broadcast on their Asia Pacific Network. The ABC producer really became fascinated with the fact that slcn.tv and my production company Perfect World Productions were producing TV shows in a virtual World! So firstly they interviewed Starr in Melbourne, and then sent a crew over to my real life house in Sydney to film me, I'm was pleased at the results of the piece over all, they cut out all the bits where I went into vast detail about my virtual sex life.....joke....

Seriously ....All in All it was a nice positive piece on virtual world machinima, a link to the video of the ABC broadcast that went to air a few weeks ago is in the top right hand column of this blog. Thanks Starr for the Dub...

Glitteractica Reveals she was Cyber stallked after she appeared on the Daily Show!!!

Tonight's show was a blast! we had no technical mishaps, Glitteractica was a little hard to hear, Skype issues.... but otherwise the SL gods favored us with a very good night.

We had a busy stage tonight with some fantastic guests, with Glitteractica Cookie telling us about what happened after the congressional hearing, and her unexpected "appearance" on the Daily show with Jon Stewart, her introduction to Celebrity has been quite unexpected and overwhelming. Jazz Guitarist JB Melnik revealed a lot about his extraordinary multi talents for Politics, Mountain Bikes, Real Estate, oh and that he is a Dr of Jazz....and the Princeton Trio let us in on some Princeton secrets, and we finally got Scope to talk! nah only through IM :) see it all tonight on www.slcn.tv it should be uploaded then.

As you can see from the Pic (thankyou to Jurin Juran for that one,) the studio is now constantly full, and as such we have had to limit access to the studio during our pre-show rehearsal to after 5.30pmslt for our 6pm slt start, so that the guests on the show get a chance to rehearse the show with as little lagg as possible. Thankyou to the audience for understanding this and respecting it, we were getting people turning up at 4pm previously waiting 2 hours for the show to start!

We are doing something very different next week, and holding the show at The Best of Second Life Boulevard in honor of them winning our best shopping District competition!

On next weeks show will be the designer and creator of the Best Of SL Boulevard and publisher of the Best Of Second Life Mag, Frolic Mills. We also have Singer Guitarist Winston Akland, if you haven't seen this guy I wholeheartedly advise you to go listen to him he is just wonderful, in RL he is a well known musician... I wonder if we will get him to reveal his real identity!!! We also have the incredibly talented Machinima artist Brigitte Kungler who's ground breaking and popular video called Chameleon has been breaking records on blip TV, she was also featured recently at SL5B!

Tonight Live this week was tough going...and not because the content was tough SL really wasn't treating all of us equally, the audience on the whole were understanding of our delays, and stayed to watch the show with a full sim again this week. SLCN of course cut out all the crashes and lagg, and you would never know what a very difficult time we had filming this episode, congratulations to our wonderfull guests for their Gung Ho attitude, and staying the distance!
In Kenzo was a fascinating guest and we only just touched on her talents in RL and SL, she took us through the wonderfull Competition for the Public Good on SL, Digby Smalls sang an incredibly beautiful original song that everyone was in raptures about, and finally Maar Auer from Metaversal Arts entertained us with examples of her incredible dances that she has created, the Charleston and the Lindy Hop! demonstrated for us by 4 of her wonderfull friends and collaborators, including Lord Lisle, Davon Westland, Darleze and the others. Arts, culture, and the blues all came together for this week's edition of
Tonight Live. It was an evening of entertainment with Paisley's guests
Arnold Albert - Newseum Poobah, Von Johin - Blues Guitarist Singer, and
Phorkyad Acropolis - Theatre Director/Performer.

Our first guest, Arnold Albert, discussed journalism and it's place in both
the virtual and real world. Arnold is Vice President of broadcasting,
education and programs of the Newseum in Washington, DC, - a museum
dedicated to educating the public about Freedom of the Press. Albert
explains The Newseum was reestablished in Secondlife to explore the issues
of free speech and free press in virtual worlds, and he raised the question
of what rights do the citizens of Secondlife hold. Visit the Newseum in

Cue the music as Von Johin took to the stage. Blues Guitarist and Singer,
Von performed to a lively crowd of eager fans then sat down with Paisley to
discuss his background in music, his love for the blues, and his interest in
performing in Secondlife. A fan of the blues since only nine years old,
Von performs live from his studio in Nashville, TN, and he covers songs from
greats like Memphis Jug Band, Blind Rev Gary Davis, Muddy Waters, Willie
Dixon, Blind Boy Fuller, Noah Lewis, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Sonny Boy
Williamson, and many others. He has established himself as one of the
biggest blues singers in SL impressing large audiences and Paisley as well!

Phorkyad Acropolis, a Theatre Director with a PHD in Dramatic Art, was
Paisley's third and final guest of the evening. In the real world,
Phorkyad teaches and produces campus productions at The University of
Pittsburgh. In Secondlife, he has a theatre company called "Muse of Fire".
Phorkyad discussed his background of teaching theatre technology, his
reasons for joining the world of Secondlife to perform, and shared with the
audience some of his work. This includes performance poetry, a beautiful
piece that Phorkyad wrote and read aloud called "My Muse". Most recently he
directed Euripides "The Baccha" which he brought to Secondlife , and he
filled us in on why he chose this Greek play and how he believes it relates
to the citizens of SL. He also gave us a sneak peak at his new play
"Immaculate Misconceptions" which contains various amusing stories from his

Last week the Galaxy Cruiser Celebrated their 1 year Anniversary! the Party went on all week end. They came up with a fantastic idea for the events. Music, events, games, tours and a room on the boat for 65 lucky guests for 5K a head! It sold out, and I heard that the guests were thrilled! Thankyou to the Galaxy Event crew Bella LaSalle and Bill Stirling for booking me and my live trio again this year for the opening event. We had a wonderfull time! both Craig Scott my bassist and Ray Forster my Pianist just love doing gigs in SL Craig was recovering from a recent operation to his shoulder so a 1 hour gig was really just right for him to get back into his playing. Craig Scott is Australia's leading stand up bassist so to be out of action for him for 3 months has been hell! Ray lives not far from me and teaches Jazz at a local high-school and has played here and O.S professionally all his life, both very accomplished musicians! We have done quite a few events both ticketed and free entry, its a very special night to have a real band in Second Life streaming just to you and your patrons!

And The Winner Is!

What a wonderful show this week I know I say that every week but every week is always so interesting and fun with the many varied guests that we have on Tonight live. Sunday started very early for me here on Second Life appearing on Metamakeover first up at 12pm slt which is actually 5am my time! I was up at 3.30am to be there..it was lovely to be guest on a TV rather than the host, Safia and her team are just wonderful, Safia is such a natural host very effervescent and fun. And her director and assistants are very well co-ordinated. We started off at their studio at Northpoint and moved then over to my studio..a movable show! to show off the incredible metamakeover that they did with Bethany Heart and Colleen Demoulins from the Loft on our old and tired looking studio..it was such a lovely experience being on Metamakover and for those of you that love a great before and after...which I do ..I don't care what it is actually ...diet before and after...face before and after and ..Houses before and after Metamakover will really fulfill your Voyeuristic tenancies (which we all have....) I don't know really about you but I just love looking through peoples houses..usually invited...or open for inspection
or in magazines of course I wouldn't be soo rude to do that unasked..this show gives you carte Blanche to do just that I love Metamakeover...so off we went to the studio for the big Reveal!
I tell you the studio has just blown me away, its soooo grand now..so professional. It will take us some time to feel at home but not long I already feel it is ours..
the Tonight Live team all absolutely love it..and all of you can walk through it at any time other than when we are filming there at 6pm slt Sunday. Bethany and Colleen from the Loft have an absolutely wonderful shop in SL ...I love everything in that shop honestly its just a case of what I want and where it would fit, the textures are absolutely spectacular so beautifully done and expertly put together the style goes from Modern to classic, and they have some really really great freebies, even an entire shop and a cinema that I grabbed cause one day....when I have my own sim I would love to have my own venue or cinema being a Film junky as I am ...Bethany also worked on the Newseaum which we are featuring on our show in 2 weeks!

We also announced the winner of our Best Shopping District in Second Life! and the winner was the Best of SL Boulevard a simply gorgeous shopping mall with everything on offer and an all round spectacular build really something quite out of the ordinary we just couldn't go past that one! So we will be taking the show to the Best of SL to film there! Congratulations go to owner Frolic Mills and his team.
the other runners up were in number 2 place Retrology a great 1950's sim with all your favorite 1950's style shops we all loved that one! very quirky and lovely to spend time in. Then at number 3 we had To the Nines the LBD Baxter sim, really lovely atmosphere and of course featuring LeeZu Baxter's shop really a lovely job! then at number 4 out of 12 entries in total, was the spectacular Lookr & Prim Designs a new and very well designed Sim with the most amazing furniture! and clothing. The judging was certainly a really tough assignment and we had our disagreements about what we thought should place..but we were very happy with our choices and in full agreement in the end. All the nominees were of an incredibly high standard and I'd like to thank all of them listed below for entering and being really good sports about the competition! Best wishes to all!

On Sunday night June 1st, 2008 Paisley Beebe and The Diva Rocking made a live on-air announcement of the final 12 nominees for the Tonight Live Sim Search “Best Shopping District” competition. Next Sunday June 15th , 2008 they will be announcing the winner and 3 runners up live on the show. Sunday 8th Show

Well, Yesterdays show was what I would call a sleeper...it really suprised me! we decided to go for a Pamper Show with Perfumier scripter Omm Defoux and Tooley Renoir from Serenity Spa a SL Day Spa, I thought initially both ideas were really on the "Only in SL.." crazy side but by the end of each interview I was convinced that both guests were really crazy with Talent and imagination! There are so many bizare and crazy things in SL, and lots are quite morbid and destructive, but these two were really adding to the fun and wimsicle side of Second Life at its best.

Now our musical guest..Pato Milo thats a different story, he played his Hit song "Your my Superbaby" to an exhuberant crowd and we saw his music Video of the same song on the screen behind him, Im afraid I got a little carried away in the interview ...whoops....I was having such fun with him reminicing over 1980's hits and bands I forgot it was his interview! luckily Pato got me back on track...sheepish grin...All the guests on this show were dream guests, they turned up on time were enthusiastic and fun and all of them had a great sense of humor, (we need lots of that particularly in our rehersals...) So if you wern't there watch the show!

I must send out special thanks to the slcn.tv team who we are now working with to bring more visuals into the show with Video integration And thanks to my wonderfull talented team, Delinda Dyrssen, Yxes Delacroix, Angie Mornington, Ember Farina and Superdave Spearman they are without doubt the best Television crew in SL! We say good bye to an old freind today...the Tonight Live studio is about to get a Metamakover! the girls from the Loft and from Metamakover slcn.tv's fantastic unreality house and dwelling makeover experts are giving the old girl a new look..! not me... but my old girl... the studio, which was very hurridly made and put together by Wiz and myself one year ago! so guys! no more horrible poseballs with awfull poses! and boring colours and "poo brown" as Bethany so elegantly put it...stage..I can't wait to see what they come up with!! Im scared and exited all in one. In the meantime we will be next door "borrowing" the Metamakover Studio after their show on the sunday, no show this weekend so we will be in there on 1st June! with another great and exiting show! bye bye old girl...we will see you when you have your facelift, and the reveal happens on the 15th June on Metamakover and Tonight Live!!!

This weeks show will be a Audible and Visual Feast! A simply scrumptious collaboration never been done by two of Second Lifes most amazing Artists. Eshi Otawara Dress Costumier and Builder and Chouchou Musicians, Sim builders and performance Artists of the Ghostly fantastical Kind Arabesque Choche from Japan and juliet Heberle.

Eshi Otawara doesn't design dresses she designs wearable art, her work is something truely not seen in real life, and so unusual even for Second Life, some of her dresses cannot be worn in mixed company not because they are see thru but because they are soooo huge!

Chouchou have created a buzz that has surpased what any other musical artist has so far done in Second Life not only is their music haunting and fantastic, but the sets and surrounds that they have provided the Second Life community have resulted in many many photographs and visits to their new Chouchou Sim. He is in Japan and she is in the States yet the collaboration between the two reaches accross the globe seamlessly.,

This Music World

I joined SLMC forum for the SL music industry, when it was started by Slim Warrior last year. The original idea for the forum was because the original one started by the Lindens after the Second Life community Conference was a really awful UI and no one could navigate it..That forum was set up so that Linden Lab could start to understand what the music industry here in SL wanted. At the time we had threads talking about getting the word out there to the bigger population, of SL finding ways of getting to those those 80% of users out there that didn't know about live music, in SL and how to find it. And I contributed what I could to the discussion.

I stopped contributing when it was clear that my posts were being ignored and any ideas I had were not even discussed or dismissed just ignored...and it seemed to me like there was a different agenda. Now you might think that I have sour grapes over the entire thing, possibly?? but really... I just got disappointed that the forum was not going to do what it set out to do, or maybe it did which was to...

Somewhere in that mission statement I misread it, thinking that some sort of ideas might be actually agreed on and acted on..From memory I remember one wonderful thing happening, which was that the Lindens put the announcement about live music on the login page..so at least if you are in front of your computer while logging in and not picking your toes waiting, you might see something about live events in the SL search. It was a great victory for those that suggested it..

Did the masses flock to concerts after that? not really ...because the problems with our music industry and why it is not supported by a lot more of the population is much more complex than just telling people to find out where live music is in Live Events in search.

Why am I writing this piece here when this blog has mostly been a place just announcing fun things and my show...because I didn't get a hearing over at SLMC. And at anytime my post can be cut off and re assigned too a new thread therefor losing context and meaning.

The reason the post was split was because there was a post inferring that the Thread had been "Jacked" I'll let you be the judge of that. As far as Im concerned it was the same subject matter.

The forum from what I can see is generally a well supported forum with the usual scraps, slander,rants and good pats on the back, and jokes.

But I think if you go back to its inception you can pretty much cut and paste many of the venue verses vs artist payment verses tips, from the beginning and paste them into the latest ones.In many many cases the same arguments are going on, new musicians and venue owners come in, talk about tips, venues managers agents ect...and it goes round and round. With the exception of Silas Scarborough who invented a tip jar that split tips and that caused a whole other discussion shall I say.

This time round it was very much the same discussion I got into, and left as I did last time, but in response to a different stimulus. I have to say that I got the same response, as before and as a result I quit again. i.e don't come on to SL and try to make a living as an artist, just be grateful you have anyone listen to you. And no we don't want any changes thank you along those lines..back in your box. Fine for those with another income, but not fine if you all you are is a musician with Real Life restrictions preventing you from working in RL, and you want to invest in SL far more than just playing for pocket money..Last time I posted I kept hearing how SL was not ready for ticketed events the idea of charging for entry and actually getting the consumer to pay was to many disloyal and abhorrent. So again the musician is treated as the wandering vagrant who owes the world his songs, but if you want to build, or sell a product that was considered ok... apparently there wasn't room for both. Thats what it was perceived by many many I spoke to not just me.

I'm all for griping and ranting I love a good rant, but after I get over the rant, typically I want something positive to come of it..so I change something..or move on...I don't keep ranting..except of course for these 2 posts :)

The argument for those that don't want to read reams and reams of posts, (mine especially) it was a thread set up about a post that Phoenix Psaltery had put up on the Metaverse Messenger a post that was a follow on from a post from Crap Mariner on his own blog, read it here

There was also a post on another thread, on SLMC here where a venue owner named and shamed a long term SL musician for informing her that he charged 15K for an hour gig. apparently with a derisive laugh,,,? but he never got the chance to challenge this as he was not on the forum, the thread then turned into a dogfight about poor venues the cheek of him and how ridiculous the fee was and who had ever heard of him anyway, all lovely stuff... for a forum supposedly supporting artists and venues.

After my posts were starting to be taken entirely the wrong way, due I believe in part to some of the posters pre-conceived ideas. I bowed out, and wrote privately to the moderator apologizing for the fact that the post I wrote was misinterpreted...2 posts were misinterpreted ...and after I qualified them, I was disbeleived and accused of changing my tact to cover up my intentions totally untrue.

ok I give up... every thing I have said is now being taken the wrong way, I have actually interviewed and talked to over 40 musicians personally and I know many known reasons for why they play here..and none have said for the money, and I don't think Dan was asking that..he wanted to know why if you wern't getting paid your due you didn't give up why you kept playing why don't you go out and play in RL insinuating ( I thought correct me if Im wrong) that you probably can't because you are .....horrible. I said and I will say this only once more...because I think ive said it about 3 times and I think thats way to many times..some musicians can play for tips some can't simple as that! they all have different financial situations and personal situations in real life, and some actually believe that the're time is worth more than tips... so be it, no one seriously becomes a musician in SL or RL for money...if they do they are nuts...

I've actually suggested many ideas here in this thread and I attempted to support both venues and musicians in my arguments, NO Threats in any way were made! the suggestions so far have mostly been ignored. I'd say thats why a lot of people give up on this list, they are shouted down and they wonder what its all for if, we all just grumble and bitch and don't do anything...its one thing to talk about ideas and another to do it...Im leaving now, as Im worn out trying to explain my posts..which only need to be read in the context in which they were written, I hold no ill will to anyone my suggestion was to just live and let live and don't name and shame! pay or don't pay, play or dont play, and if you don't like something change it, move on, or shut up...and I apply that to myself too I will now officially shut up.

Since I posted that Ive had a few emails of support about this post.

The thread is still going, and Ive now been accused of insisting that my ideas should be acted upon, another case of someone reading into my words what they "thought" I said. I was accused of not writing clearly, but its also true that if you already have your mind made up... you read things the way you want to.

The person who was named and shamed is not someone I know personally, perhaps there was already a history with this person, that caused him to receive such harsh judgment? without hearing his side of the story, its hard to say... be that as it may, I defend his right to charge what he wants! and I defend the right of code of conduct! that means that Venues should be discreet and not go round publicly announcing Artists rates of pay, over the internet or anywhere else!, if you did this in RL you would soon be abandoned by many artists fearful of having their rate of pay bandied about in a smiler humiliating fashion, no matter how it was presented to the said person. I have had experience when I inadvertently asked a venue owner about another artist and was told that they wouldn't discuss the other Artists arrangement, and I think that was the right and proper response absolutely, and it made me as an artist feel much more secure..None of the replies to this particular post mentioned that it was terrible breach of code of conduct..many of the respondents also joined in and ridiculed their fellow artist appallingly, and I didn't see a moderator commenting on that either. Clearly is a free for all in that group, I see that, and I'm not saying that no-one should be criticized, but that sort of discloser and behavior makes people drop out of such groups and hurts all of us the industry. And in the interest of what the forum was initially setting out to do, I can only see such behavior as being totally counter-productive.

My suggestions I have made through the forum over the last year, were not directives but ideas, and I was looking forward to some debate on them, some collaboration or disagreement, but no solutions or ideas were even mentioned. Only the same old stuff went round and round, and I contributed to that at times too.

Now, if I were a new artist in Second Life, and made those suggestions, I would really feel that the this particular forum was not encouraging new ideas at all, but just a place for hanging out, for the same small group of people and a place where it seems they are not open to any ideas at all! certainly not even as much as disagreeing with some.. it seems too hard perhaps? Maybe there are too many jaded people on SLMC to even take me to task for my ideas..even to say "oh we've heard it all before", nope they took some of my comments the wrong way, and got stuck in the same old groove, of praising those that play for tips and for free (because they can afford it mind) and accusing those who want a fee over the venue's ability to pay it, as the baddies..and those baddies are obviously also deluded, greedy, and losers in RL. Yes there are musicians who think they are gods gift and sneer at freebies and tips only, but it seems just as many as venue owners sneer and howl at musicians who ask for a fee that would be low by any other standard held in SL for an hours work by a consultant ect..equally highly skilled and sought after in his field.

I'm sorry if that wasn't the intent of some of the forum members to portray this attitude, but with a few frayed tempers that attitude sure came across to me.

I stick to my guns on this one. There is room for all, on here in the SL music industry, swindlers and crooks included, as there is in RL, the love of music is not in question, although its touted around like a badge of honor by some as if that makes them higher in morals... I support all ventures in music, weather they be free ones, or paid ones. As long as no one is intentionally getting ripped off, the music industry here cannot afford to be so divisive and set in its ideas.

There was a response that said that loads of the really hard working and successful musicians in SL do not post on the Forum, and are never seen there...and its probably because they do not want to waste their time, they are too busy just doing it, and not caring about what some people in the music industry here in SL think...good on them but what a shame to waste such a valuable resource.

I will post more about this as we go on, because things in the music industry in SL are changing.

And I'm interested to see how things develop on many levels with the change in Popular places and in land prices.

Until we as a music industry here can have someone promote us professionally in real life press, and find a common ground, we will just limp along in the same busking one man band style...Although they won't admit it I believe some people are happy to continue that way its suits them..like a few others in SL Im part of a band, and SL is not geared up for bands only solo acts with this American tipping economy..

Real life publicity will get much more awareness out there than SL publicity Campaign thats clear, and thats no easy task, at least they will hear about us, but when they find us will it be what they expect or what they want? Do we know? probably not! as about 50% of them don't speak English and don't know what tipping is..and they are ignored...And thats a big population to ignore. The rest of the world is here folks and they don't do things Americas way or any other English speaking nations way, for that matter, do we expect them to adapt to us? how sanctimonious..perhaps we should get over ourselves and arrange things their way? and just what is that?

A coupla M's turned up at todays show? who were they? were they M Lindens alts...or pretenders to the throne...challengers to the Kindom so to speak of M...Tonights show featured the wonderfull Whimsy of Whimsy Winx and her flamingo fetish followers pinking out the place all over! and the wonderfull Beth Oddets and her band partner Yep, frying fish with Chickens...there were 2 chickens to start and one got fried...well I assume it did as we couldn't find it, if you find a lone chicken wandering aimlessly at Northpoint please alert the staff..its against SL regulations to have loose chickens fouling up the joint!

Im wondering about the M thing..as many of us are? its Mark Kingdon obiously who has named a newbie avater M Linden is it just straight forward...couldn't think of a name...ummm didn't want to choose something everyone might make fun of..or is it to add some mystery to Mark? or anything to do with M as in 007 at all? as many people suggest...the gadget man...who is as old as Mathusla now of course...perhaps M will be like Dr Who and just reinvent himslef each few episodes...on Bond I mean...or have a brain transplant in some future episode so the caracter remains I mean he gets older but Bond doesn't although he was allways a bit elderly. Does this mean if there is a connection that mark will stay forever 40ish...which Im guessing he is...is he a wiz with Gadgets?
put a few more of those M avatars together and you will get mmmm which can mean many things to many people :)

March 30th show celebrated our first look we had in SL ... that of Ruth! Ruth's abounded in the audience as Paisley was joined by kinetic artist elros Tuominen, singer/songwriter Kaklick Martin & author Greeter Dan

elros was born to fly around some virtual skies, to meet people and listen to music, he found his way somewhere by sculpting, when he realised he would be able to open his mind and drop colours and rhythm to his own world, the way the children do... And he started learning, and he keeps on learning, trying to put a smile in people's faces, trying to drop some dreams and soft music like sculptures: spheres, stars, rainbows, flowers, boxes in boxes in boxes and lights. elros shared many of his beautiful sculptures with us as he talked about his inspirations. He also offers straight ahead rock along with social and political commentary in his album “Big Bad World” Kaklick performed one of his most popular songs dedicated to the wonderful Ruth of SL and was accompanied by backup Ruth dancers! I think this was one of our best shows ever - we had fun exciting guests (Voicedude Reinoir - Voice-over actor, Doubledown Tandino - Digital Music Engineer, Turntable DJ, & Virtual Worlds Social Specialist, and Dizzy Banjo - Metaverse Composer) and we tried some new technology as well! The audience and guests responded well to the buzz and a brilliant time was held by all!

As his name suggests, Voicedude does voice-overs for corporate videos and commercials as well as create and sell fun and wacky gestures. He also provides the voice for Detective Jared Washington in the CSI:NY inworld games. His character voices and special ad, just for Paisley, had the audience and crew rolling in the isles. Doubledown, our musician of the evening, is a Rl turntable DJ and one of the first to enter SL. He has really embraced this world to allow himself to work full time in SL doing a variety of projects in the music, audio, events, and promotion fields. There were so many topics of conversation Pais wanted to touch on with Doubledown's diverse background. Dizzy is another multitalented person in SL having embraced the creative element of SL. He writes and produces music for places, companies, organisations and events in the metaverse. PARSEC is an interactive giant SL "instrument" which allows you to play it using only your voice and he gave a demonstration of that in a Tonight Live first using in world voice during the show! He was disappointed he couldn't also offer a personal dedication to our one and only Paisley however he kept us enthralled and laughing with his interview. Mexican Night

Sombreros, salsa dresses and colour graced not only the stage but also the audience in this tribute to the wonderful Mexican culture. Paisley enjoyed herself interviewing guests Wilson Voight the Administrator of Instituto Espanol Second Life, Joaquin Gustav an amazingly Argentinan musician and Deco Straaf the Manager of MetaLegal & Manager of the Palace of Fine Arts.

Wilson hooks up people who want to learn Spanish with those who want to teach. He ensures all the resources are in place to insure a positive learning environment.
The Spanish language experience at Instituto Español consists of 5 areas of focus: Spanish classes, study groups, practice partners, cultural immersion, and language tourism. Check out their campus is located at the Caribbean Sunrise Sim (128,70).

This week's musician was the talented Joaquin Gustav. A Latin singer/guitarist, Joaquin began his career in SL at the Sim Argentina Eventos back in September of 2007. His specialty is guitar oriented "Popular music Interpretation" and he has worked as a music composer in several Tango RL musical projects around the country. He has also played with the rock band Quijotes and recorded with them "Asado y Sidenafil", a record that won many awards and local mentions, and was played in the FM "National Radio" and the TV show Futbol del Ascenso (TN Deportivo). Deco Straaf is a multi talented man. He is both the Manager Partner of MetaLegal firm and also the Manager of the Palace of Fine Arts. Paisley spoke with him about MetaLegal a virtual law firm which concentrates on services related to intellectual property, trademarks, corporate law, legal counseling on business opportunities, strategic alliances and joint ventures in SL. We had another really good show on March the 2nd in our Northpoint studio as Paisley welcomed guests Templar Merlin from the ISN Virtual Worlds in Italy, Vincent Merricks a Singer/Guitarist, and Benton Wunderlich from Music Academy Online

Templar Merin is the CEO of an Italian company, ISN Virtual Worlds, specialising in managing strategies for companies entering virtual worlds. He also ran the first soccer championship in SL, the Ducati and F1 racing championship.

Apologies for the delay in the blog for our show from last week - 24th of February. Unfortunately RL interfered in the form of good and bad - my RL birthday (my 10th on Feb 29!!!) and my father getting ill and needing to be hospitalised.

It was a wonderful show with lots of support, interest and swooning from the audience as we had facinating guests who spoke with passion about their cause (Daphne), their music (Orange) and their work & interests (Beyer)

Daphne Molinari has been in SL for almost 5 years & has many different roles: Clothing designer, Photographer, DJ, Fashion Coordinator, Modeling Agency Owner, Model, Fund Raiser, Event Coordinator & Community Manager. Paisley interviewed the talented Daphne about her work with "Autism Speaks in Second Life", a fundraising organization she created to help the Autistic Community receive funding for educational items, therapy and various other aid for those diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum. Orangelife plays covers and his own originals at all kinds of venues enjoying being able to showcase his music to a worldwide audience. What a fabulous evening - the sim was full and we had a show stopper as the talented Cylindrian stole our breaths, so Police Chief Drakken had to chase after her and Doctor Ren got us all going again! The crowd enjoyed a great show (albeit a quiet one without the interjections of Crap*) although I believe they tried to put Cylindrian off her interview by making cheeky comments on his behalf.

First up was Drakken Calhoun, Chief of the Virtual Police Department (VPD). We felt very safe as we had many Officers in the audience to support their Chief as he shared with us about the role of the VPD in helping patrol and protect numerous sims from griefers and nuisance avatars. They also provide security advice and investigations in world and have a good process to send error and abuse reports and issues to Linden Labs.

It was wonderful to have the hugely talented Cylindrian Rutabaga, Singer/Songwriter, to join us and perform the debut performance of a song dedicated to her grandparents. It was very moving and we were honoured that she shared it with us. Cylindrian is a passionate soul singer who often performs in RL venues and then broadcasts the show into SL. The final guest, Ren Stonecutter, joined SL for fun however his RL background as a physician came to the fore as he became involved in SL medical groups and he ended up founding the Second Life Medical Association (SLMA)which initially started up as a way for medical RPing groups to chat however over time RL medical personnel joined it and it now is often used to present talks about different medical subjects to groups in SL. It may have been SuperBowl Sunday in the States however many people joined us both in the studio and to watch us on screens around SL for our inspirational show.

Wheelerwood Oppewall was our first guest and is an accomplished RL actor & winner of numerous short film awards through his film production. Our final inspirational guest was DevilMayCare Jetaime who found a personal tragedy 15 years ago inspired her to create a RL foundation AngelAid http://www.angelaid.com to help children who are sick and or have been injured. Dev and her RL husband also took in many, many foster children with illnesses, emotional problems and trauma in their lives and made a real difference for them. Dev is now using SL to create a new foundation, AngelHeros, to help a wider RL audience to help people worldwide in need. Apologies for the delay in this blog but RL holidays can be so much fun, even when separated from my beloved computer!

Our first guest was the beautifully dressed Gabrielle Riel, a Duchess of Carntaigh in the steampunk sims of Calendon, but who is also a DJ who saw a need for a radio station "Radio Riel" ( http://radioriel.org )which now has really taken off especially in the very social and active sims of Calendon. The musical styles include classical, scottish, celtic & Victorian to fit with the theme of the sims.

Our musical guest this week was the talented Picker Apogee. Picker is a ragtime guitarist and his style of jazz playing Paisley admitted is one of her favourites. Cadence proved her professionalism by continuing to speak and share her stories of success in SL business as a woman accidentally sat on her during her interview. Well General Mayhem broke out before during and after todays show. 1 min before show time Crap Mariner says something to me about blowing his candle out...(he is the sticky pink thing in the pic) and I almost miss my cue..due to uncontrollable gufawing, then we get 2 people on the stage during the inteview one in my face...and one actually sitting on Cadence Juran, then after wards this happens...why the cupcake Crap? who knows Im sure its a deep and philosphical protest of some sort against...ah...calorie counters...ah health food inspectors or perhaps he just feeling in the pink and just being a sweetie pie....the show of course can be seen on slcn.tv or go to itunes podcasts and search for tonight Live with Paisley Beebe and you can download it and watch it on a bigger screen :)

Our last show of the year was a special one ... full of celebration, amazing guests and a nice surprise. What a wonderful show it was with two thoughtful guests with huge hearts - Alanagh Recreant, the Co-executive director of NGO Uthango Social Investments (which runs Virtual Africa in SL) and DrFran Babcock, Educator, Podcaster & Creator.

Alanagh explained that the purpose of Uthango, a non profit organisation in South Africa, is to make a meaningful difference in communities. SL gives Uthango a chance to access communities and innovative ways to create sustainable change. The social networks in RL can be tapped into and explored futher in SL. Virtual Africa provides a portal to introduce the internet and virtual worlds to South Africans and also to african content to SL and raise funds through the sale of RL african bicycles. I know that last week I said I wanted a little more festive cheer in this week's show however I was referring to the outfits! After watching the show's replay I've decided that Paisley must have drunk a little too much eggnog. She assures me that Capos started the discussion re breasts first however there was increasing focus on them throughout the show in her interviews and we even saw a picture of some gi-normous ones when Diva was talking about fashion faupas!

Sean Voss, a virtual travel guide, was our first guest and discussed his new book - a travel guide to SL and how it focussed on many top areas to visit including scenic locations, shpping and entertainment venues, Roleplay sims and where to go for an exciting sports adventure. A magical show in the festive season!

A lively and packed audience ranging from dragons to skeletons and even a walking package were bedecked in christmas hats and joined us to find out ways to enjoy themselves leading up to the festive season.

Pamper yourself at Tonight Live

It's amazing to think that Tonight Live has been running for only a few months as the crowds are huge every week and we seem to keep growing!

December is a month of festivities and families and pampering and what better way to pamper yourself than giving your avatar a makeover and pampering your senses with great music? At our last show, on December 2nd, Paisley interviewed Jujudoll Dancer, the MODA Founder/Co-CEO, who talked about how people can be polished and trained to enter the glamerous world of modeling; Luigi DiPrima, a Singer Guitarist, who has a guitar style that has been influenced by blues, classical, fingerstyle and rock players; and Brianna Beresford, President of the Virtual Male Institute, who takes care of the guys of SL and takes them from drab to fab in the easy steps of looking at Skin, Shape and Hair and providing them with links and even personal guidance.

We were fortunate enough to see some of the gorgeous models of MODA join us and one of Brianna's students was also able to show us how he had been transformed from noob to hunk in only two days.

A show for the ladies

November 25th saw christmas decorations adorning the studio and was a show for the ladies with a gorgeous little girl, a hunky singer and a shopping blogger extraordinaire as Paisley's guests.

Paisley was in fine form as she found out from Marianne McCann, a child advocate, what is was like being a little girl in Second Life. Despite her diminutive size, Marianne showed us that she a little girl with a very big heart & bright mind. Not only is she a child in SL who loves to play but she is also a child advocate, store owner, mall hostess, builder & writer!

The handsome and talented singer / guitarist OhMy Kidd then played from his heart & we could see why he has a huge following.

Finally the blogger, podcaster and shopper extraordinaire, Daphne Abernathy, shared her experiences with us in shopping in SL and how we can all find that perfect outfit. It's lucky we don't have credit cards in SL - I can see another shopping spree coming on!!!

On November 18th we had another record crowd to join Paisley live as she interviewed the gorgeous Ravenelle Zugzwang, a Project Manager for NMC Virtual Worlds who not only manages large scale projects focused on education and the support of educators in Second Life but also is a well known and talented photographer.

It was a menagerie!

November 11th was our biggest show ever with over 90 people watching us live - we filled both the sim and had lots of people at our overflow theatre as studio to join Paisley live as she interviewed our wonderful guests. In honour of our first guest many of the audience had their beloved animals with them. Carrie Tatsu of Zooby's Pet Shop showed us many of her wonderful and varied pets, Maximillion Kleen blew us away with the performance of his first ever original song and ChrisMelissinos SunMicrosystems, the Chief Gaming Officer at Sun Microsystems, spoke of gaming in SL

What a spooktastic show!

Last week was an exciting and spooktastic "Tonight Live" Halloween show & we packed the studio again to see Paisley talk with a wizard, skeleton and wiccan!

The audience were decked out in the house colours of the Hogwarts School as students and teachers alike came to support their favourite teacher and wizard, Danton Thirrol. At times we had to threaten detention to get them to calm down - thank goodness Snape didn't turn up!

Make no bones about it but rarely will you find a skeleton with such a big voice as bass player Dolmere Talamasca. It was great to hear more about his experiences.

The final guest was the beautiful Wiccan Sojourner who was exquisitely dressed in a custom gown showing off her well deserved reputation in the fashion industry. She shared with us information about the Wiccan beliefs an the true meaning of Halloween.

It was a fabulous show!

Our next show will be awesome where Tonight Live will be assimilated and delve into the world of CSI!

What a HOT show!!!

We started with resident long time supporter and entertaining funny martian, Razzap Snookums. It was fascinating to find the man behind the martian and learn of his passion for writing and the wonderful city he is building to bring his book to Second Life.

Things started to heat up as the Wild Child, Spence Wilder, took to the stage and swept us away before enjoying a fun chat with him and heating up the set for our last guests of the show ...

that of Hellfighter Solvange and Ember Farina of the Linden County Fire Rescue (LCFR). They cranked the heat up on stage so high with Paisley that the set caught on fire and we had our own virtual emergency!!! Screams, laughter, firetrucks, water and general organised mayhem saw the show go out on a high note. In fact we were all having so much fun we forgot to take too many photos too!

Fantasy, satire and a good dose of reality!

Paisley started by talking to the wonderful Upo Choche who is the Artistic Director of the Act Up Theater about how his group bring 'live' theater to SL. With anything possible in SL it makes it an exciting stage for lve theatre - be sure to try and catch one of their shows :)

We then were treated to a hilarious rendition of a song by Niko Donburi which really touched a chord in all of us as it touched on the numerous problems we experience in SL.

Finally we looked to Satori Spire to talk to us about where SL is heading with metabrands and advertising of the future

Yet again we had a great and colourful crowd and Granny even turned up to make sure everything was spic and span before filming began! Check out our pictures to see if you can spot someone you know!

What a fabulous show!

What a a fun show! For the fourth week in a row we packed the sim and had overflow to our backup screens.

This week Tay Runo opened our eyes to the possibilities of what we could be in SL by showing us many of his favourite avatars and he also shared with us his favourite shopping venues.

Louis Volare, the very well known SL & RL musician and recording artist wooed us with his beautiful piano playing and singing before Paisley enjoyed finding out more of the man behind the avatars (he has multiple avatar disorder - Louis Volare (solo pianist),
Luigi Volare (jazz pianist and vocalist) & Landon Volare (singer/songwriter)!!!).

Finally we heard from Ecocandle Riel. Eco is one of SL's success stories having given up his RL employment to work in SL. He shared with us the future of shopping by showing us some of the ultimate items and gifts that can be purchased for RL from on the SL Iwoot (I Want One Of Those) sim.

On and just to finish off this weeks blog I was lucky enough to meet the wonderful Ms Paisley Beebe in RL when she visited my city the other week:

Boats, balls, rocking and a mushroom!

Have you ever had people complain that you're not active enough? Well now you can go and experience very realistic sailing and even play golf at the Hollyword complex in SL as MarkTwain White and Nber Mdici shared with us all.

Silas Scarborough, a man who likes to rock the boat with his strong ideals, rocked our packed out sim with his awesome guitar playing in the middle of flames and enjoyed chatting with Paisley about how to support fellow musicians and venue owners!

Finally we met Lady Hathaway of TUi who taught us about the wonderful work of her university. There are 100 staff and 40 student teachers involved in leading us through the exciting work of building and sculting. Paisley even managed to make a mushroom!

Another fun show before we had a break for a week and we were delighted to enjoy the company of Jane Calvert from the Electric Sheep Company who spoke about how they work to bring RL companies into SL and run events based with RL artists, Freestar Tammas who sang a fabulous original composition showing us her medium to fight against poverty, injustice and racism through her beautiful music and MenuBar Memorial who has brought weather to SL and filled our studio not only with rain, thunder, lightning and hail but also with a tornado and he brought his own crowd of particle generated people to fill the stage! Of course with all the bad weather we generated we should have warned our studio audience to bring umbrellas!

Finally the next show on Sunday 16th September is definitely one not to be missed with one of the most well known names of SL with the avid photographer and blogger Torley Linden , beautiful singer Slim Warrior and R&SL romance author Diana Allandale.

Real excitement at the last show!

Excitement and good natured comments abounded in the audience with the studio declared neutral territory for two warring faction of Midian City who attended to support their leaders. Cypress had a large elven and human contingent of fans for his beautiful space music and calls of G'day Mate came from the Aussies there to support Lise. There were so many different and wonderful avatars in the audience it made my job hard to take photos of everyone before the show was over. I've put you all into a huuuuuge slideshow - try and see if you can spot yourself!

It was a Packed House!!

The Studio was Packed! 62 people in the sim and we had to increase the limit to 65 to get Cypress Rosewood back in who crashed!
As you can see by the photos the audience and guests were something to see! Lise Robinani from ABC, Space Musician Cypress Rosewood and 2 guests from the Dark and scary Midian City Ophelia and Damian. If you want to know what Aussie Broadcaster ABC is actually planning for their ABC island in SL, and what space music actually is! and what role playing is all about...you need to see this show!

What a show! Iris shared wonderful photography and fashion tips and talked about her experiences blogging her SL, Anakin made the audience swoon with his dreamy saxophone playing and Dell opened our eyes to the future of virtual technology and imagery and showed us all how exciting it will all be in the next five to ten years.

Below is a small slideshow presentation of some of wonderful audience, guests and of course the gorgeous Ms Paisley Beebe! Are you one of our audience who has been highlighted this week? Each week I will try and find someone different to show here so make sure you dress to impress ... of course you could just freeze yourself in a block of ice and laugh at the antics of your fellow audience members trying to save you. I never realised aliens really blew steam from their ears ... and that it's purple! Next week be prepared for better pictures as I use Iris' photography guides :)

Sunday will be a great show with Lisa Robbiani talking about Australia's ABC TV development of innovative experiences to turn your SL experiences at ABC Island into a 3-dimensional immersive Internet; the legendary SL space musician, Cypress Rosewood will be performing his musical magic with flutes, guitars and synthesizers and he is a metamedia treat to see live; and we will meet the Midian City Faction Leaders, Damian Rigaud and Oceania Goodliffe who will share with us their experiences of leading Midian City - an amazing, detailed and gorgeous build with a huge dedicated player group, elaborate back stories and well defined character classes.

Our First All Girl Show

And what a show is was Celebrity Trollup from Second Style Magazine and Millions of Us, Nethermind Bliss organiser of the SLCC, and the amazing Kim Seifert who sang a belting tune for us and entertained us with her good humor! We packed the Sim with people not able to get in....in a few weeks we will be rolling out Special SLCN.TV Screens around SL that will stream the show live! so no one has to miss out!. What a great show this week! Heaps of people arrived early to ensure themselves a seat to hear all about Kona Radio from the Owner / Operator Ravishal Bentham who spoke about the trials of setting up such a popular radio stream, Jaycatt Nico and Frogg Marlowe who had the audience swooning and won many more fans with their wonderful music, and the gorgeous & talented Katt Kongo, Editor of the Metaverse Messenger who talked about how her RL talent and hobby has become her full time work through SL.

I can't wait till the next show to find out more about SLCC, what happens behind the scenes at Second Style and to hear another wonderful live performer!

Well what a show this weeks was! Circe Broom told us how she found SL how she finds it usefull with her being wheel chair bound and her history and plans in Second Life. Cylindiran Sang her heart out, and told us about her new Album comming out. and Haroldthe Burrell talked about the sucess of Relay for Life in SL and the incredible amount of funds they have raised for Cancer Research. We has fun and a few tears.....

Our launch of Tonight Live was a Winner!!
Sunday 8th of July was our Official Launch of "Tonight Live" and our 3 guests were fantastic!
Jayed Jewel from Black Opals Entertainment, who's Event company provides planning for weddings functions and party's. Dexter Ihnen wonderfull Australian Soul Guitarist and Singer! and Elliot Eldrich SL, Entrapenour. The audience numbers for the show are increasing every week, with 55 people in the sim for our show this week! We can hold 100 people.

The Episode our 3rd is up on Google and the Network website right now! we had a Party afterwards, with Dexter Ihnen again entertaining us with he soulfull originals and covers, then I took over the stage with 1/2 hour of jazz standards with my new accompanist Ray Forster.
It was quite an effort to get it all together and I would like to thank, Wiz Nordberg the Director, Starr Sonic our Executive Producer and Texas Timtam. I would also like to thank my team Yxes Delacroix for producing and Rena Mayne for production and guest liason. Thanks also go to Devon Mollinari for PR and promotion and Jayed Jewel and her team from Black Opals for putting the party together!
We welcome Zooey Watanabe to our Team as Production Assistant.

Tonight Live's New Site

Jazz Vocalist and Radio Presenter, Paisley Beebe will be hosting a New Weekly Live TV Talk Show in Second Life, called "Tonight Live With Paisley Beebe".

The P.G Show which will start in July 2007 will feature 3 guests during its 1/2 hour broadcast, plus guest hosts bringing a "whats on" in SL type spot. The show will feature a different entertainer each episode, and showcase Second Life personalities who are making their mark in second Life.

Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe will also feature human interest stories such as one interview coming up with 2 people from opposite sides of the globe, who met and fell in love in SL and are getting married in Real Life. TLWPB, will also promote charity's and support groups.

The aim of the show is to entertain, inform and bring Second Life good news stories to the attention of other Second Lifer's and Real Lifer's, highlighting great things that Second Life residents are actually acheiving here in SL, rather than focusing on the usuall, porn, Gambling and Griefing aspect, which is really a small part of what Second Life is really about, but what is constantly featured in the press, as being the only thing to do here in Second Life.

"Tonight Live" , will be filmed in front of a live audience in a New Television Studio at the SLCN.TV Headquarters in Northpoint, in Second Life, on Sunday evenings, then broadcasted on the Web and podcasted for later viewing.
